Sagada

The Bomod-ok Falls

To get to the Big Falls, one must hire a guide from the Tourism Desk at the Town Hall care of the Sagada Environmental Guides Association (SEGA) or the office of the newly-established Sagada Genuine Guides Association (SAGGAS). For the former, the charge for a group of 10 people or less is a pretty affordable rate of 600 pesos (~15 USD).

We made a friend in the process. A Chinese guy named Sam from Hong Kong. This trip was just after 8 Hong Kong Tourists were killed in Manila. I asked him if he was afraid. He looked at me for a while and said no. Weh? =D

What am I doing? Pretending to be Samson?

My Pearly White "I conquered Sagada" Shirt became dirty white after my tour @Sumaguing Cave. Wrong choice of shirt.

The water was so cold that we couldn't take a swim. What a shame.

the piled coffins of Lumiang Cave. Even the nails are made from wood. There are some opened coffins but errr I don't think you should look at them.

You can text John Justo @ 09053288492 as a tour guide. Very nice and patient. He's also a nursing student that time so he could help you in times of emergency. =D *knock on wood*

How do I get to Sagada?

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay:

Tita Mary is a nice old lady. You could cook in her kitchen.

Banaue

How to get to Banaue Rice Terraces:

Manila to Banaue - 3 bus companies (Ohayami Trans, GV Florida & Autobus) have 1trip daily for Ohayami Trans and 1 trip daily for autobus and 2 trips(9:10pm and 10:45 pm) from florida during summer time from feb. to april which leaves Manila at around 10 pm. Bus fares are P525(deluxe bus)P475(aircon-bus) for Florida and P450 for Ohayami Trans. They have terminals in Sampaloc Manila in the EspaƱa area near the Sto. Tomas University. You can take the train to Legarda station then a pedicab to any of the two stations (fare: P20). They have daily trips back to Manila daily at 7:00 pm for Ohayami Trans. Ohayami Trans. have side seats and usually pick passengers on the way, which prolongs the entire trip by a few hours.

When the bus drops you off. There's a free ride to the town proper. Ask around town for the cheapest hotel and do not ask the drivers for they have commissions from referring tourists. Sometimes their commission is 300/head!

Our room cost us 600 each (2 people). I think we were duped.
The road to Batad

BATAD rice terraces. Also located in Banaue, it is home to the spectacular tiered, amphitheatre-shaped terraces.
A total of two hours before you arrive at Tappia Falls, there were half a dozen rest stop along the way where locals sells gatorade and softdrinks, 50 pesos at the viewing deck then it becomes 70 pesos near Tappia Falls (understandably, it gets harder to bring things there).

I quit walking from the view deck. 2 hours going to Tappia Falls and 2 hours so I could go back the jump point is TOO MUCH!
We went here around September and they've just started (finished?) reaping.

I was already sobbing when we went back to our jeepney because I was wore off.

Our room with a hot and cold shower only offers cold =D

Bohol

If you come via Manila, you'll probably want to take a connecting flight to Tagbilaran, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is also possible to take a boat to Bohol, but will take 25 hours, and is only advisable if you have plenty of time at hand and enjoy a trip on sea, or have to travel on a rock-bottom budget or with a lot of luggage. Currently, there are numerous daily flights from Manila to Tagbilaran.

If you come via Cebu like us, you can take the one and a half hour trip with a fast boat to Tagbilaran. The regular boat to Tagbilaran will take about four hours. It is also possible to take a boat to Tubigon and Talibon, and a number of other towns on Bohol, which may be more convenient if you want to be on the west or north coast of the island.

The most economical way to get from Cebu to Tagbilaran by boat is to catch a ferry to Tubigon, and continue by bus from Tubigon to Tagbilaran. This is sometimes both faster and cheaper than taking a boat directly to Tagbilaran.

Panglao Island
Nice and Slow Day...
The municipality of Panglao is home to some of the best known beaches of Bohol, including Dumaluan beach and Alona beach, and thus has numerous beach resorts.

Carmen is best known as the center of the Chocolate Hills.
To enjoy the scenery, you'll have to first climb the stairs on one of the hills for a magnificent view.

There are at least 1,260 hills but there may be as much as 1,776 hills spread over the area.

Bilar is best known for its Mahogany man-made forest, a dark area of thickly reforested land on the way from Tagbilaran to the Chocolate Hills. Most Bohol tours stop here for a short while.
