good morning Cagayan de Oro (leaving the port)
Welcome to Camiguin
You may then choose to fly from Manila to Cagayan de Oro or Butuan, then take a bus to Balingoan and then the ferry to Camiguin. This connections are available all over the year.

There are 3 ports and 1 airport on Camiguin. The 3 ports are in Balbagon (near Mambajao), Benoni and Guinsiliban. The airport is just north of Mambajao.

1) The port of Balbagon got a new passenger terminal. There are currently daily one daily trip to Jagna (Bohol) and one weekly ferry connection from Cebu-City to Balbagon (Mambajao).

2) Today Benoni is far the busiest ferry port of Camiguin. There are up to 15 daily connections from Benoni to Balingoan on Mindanao. The trip takes about 60 to 75 minutes depending on weather conditions. The fare is PHP 130.00 (Plus PHP 2.50 terminal fee!).

long and winding road of Camiguin
Camiguin is famous for their Pastel. I brought 2 boxes of 12 at home and my mom said,"Tinapay lang ang pasalubong mo? Ang dameng tinapay dto sa Maynila!"... You're welcome Mommy. =D

Camiguin's White Island
An amazing feeling is the change between low tide and high tide. Go to the island at low tide and see the island shrinking for the next 6 hours. No fear, it will never completely disappear!

Are they or are they not jellyfishes?

You can buy your pasalubong for P5 each

How to get there:

If you have already rented a vehicle in Camiguin Island, you will have no problem finding this famous spot as the driver ala tour guide will eventually take you there. Please take note that it is advisable not to rent a tricycle or a two wheeled roofed cart.

If you brought along your vehicle with you, the falls is really very accessible. If our reference starting point is the town proper of Mambajao, make your way along Camiguin's national highway going south. Not so far from the town, you will see a sign board to your right indicating the way to the Provincial Building and Katibawasan Falls (direction going up the mountain). As you ascend, you will pass by the Provincial building. Another junction will take you to Camiguin Highlands Resort, turn right to continue your way to the Falls. You will reach a bridge which will signal that the ascent is already steep. When you reached the deflection point leveling the road, the pave road will also end. the wide fire (rough) road will lead you to the entrance gate of Katibawasan Falls.

brrrrrr..... cold

Kiping
Sunken Cemetery from the top
graves now under water...

Remember the movie Ouija?....
The stories of Old Volcano and the Sunken Cemetery are closely tied together. In 1871 a strong earthquake made slide the cemetery in the sea and destroyed an ancient Spanish church. Both lay between the sea and the Old Vulcano.

The terrace and the cross are aged structure
The church of the Old Catarman town was destroyed and partly submerged by volcanic debris during the eruption and formation of Mt. Vulcan from 1871 to 1875
. This is were the locals stayed during the earthquake (?) that caused their cemetery to be where it is now.

The water of the Ardent Hot Spring is 40°C warm. It is heated by the volcanic activity of Mount Hibok-Hibok. There are several pools and a large recreation area.
The Ardent Hot Spring is 3.5km off the ring road either at Brgy. Bug-ong or Brgy.Agoho, just 2km north of Mambajao. A visit takes 1 hour. Add spare time for a bath and maybe lunch at the restaurant.
Transportation:
- Rent a motorcycle at your resort PHP 400 a day
- Rent a motorela (tricycle) PHP 800 a day
- Rent a multicab PHP 1000 to 2000, half day/day)

Entrance and others:
Entrance fee is PHP 30. They charge you a cork fee of PHP 50 per bottle, when you bring your own drinks.
After the hot spring comes the cold spring!
To get to Sto. Nino Cold Spings, you have to leave the main ring road in the village of Looc, near Catarman on the South-West side of the island. From the main road, it's about 2 km into the forest before you reach the resort area.

It feels like the water is giving you a massage

goodnight Camiguin
